2025 Tournaments


Saturday, February 8 – Red Tee Tough Man Scramble

  • Four-man teams (A, B, C, D players) picked by Pro Shop.
  • Handicaps calculated for scramble events.
  • Points to top five teams. Pay 30% of net best teams.


Saturday, March 29 – Birds of a Feather

  • Players pick their own foursomes (or Pro Shop can assist).
  • Foursomes are flighted based on total handicaps.
  • Stableford game in which you get points for how well you play within the foursome as well as some overall points against the field.
  • Further information will be provided at a later date.


Thursday, April 10 – "Achasta Gives Back" Masters-themed Charity Event

  • Par 3 golf "shamble"
  • Pickleball
  • Line Dancing Lessons
  • Sponsored by the MGA, WGA, ALC, Achasta Pickleball, Achasta Golf Committee, University of North Georgia
  • Proceeds benefit No One Alone and Jeremiah's Place


Saturday, April 12 – Masters Member-Member

  • Two-man teams (pick your own partner) plus the Masters Pro of your choice (one per MGA player). 
  • Masters professionals must be chosen no later than Wednesday, April 10 at 5:00pm
  • Scoring is one net/gross best ball per hole plus the best single 18-hole score by either professional on Thursday or Friday of the Masters tournament
  • Gross and Net Prizes


Saturday, May 10 – "21" Tournament

  • Players pick their own partner (or Pro Shop can assist).
  • Two-man teams can arrange their own foursome with another two-man team.
  • Foursomes are flighted based on handicap.
  • Scores for each hole are based on the best net score of the two players.
  • Each flight winning team will earn 1 point each and second place winners will earn ½ point each.
  • The top 5 teams out of the entire field will earn points. 1st place 3 points, 2nd place 2.5 points, 3rd place 2 points, 4th place 1.5 points, 5th place will earn 1 point and everyone will earn ½ point for participation.
  • Points are awarded to Top 5 teams overall, flight winners and 2nd in flight.

Friday, Saturday, & Sunday, June 6,7, & 8 – Ryder Cup

  • Matt and Austin pick Team America and Team Europe
  • MGA points to be awarded for Player of the Year as follows – ½ point for all players, ½ point for a tie match, 1 point for a match win, and 1 point for the winning team members
  • Day 1 - 2 man best ball
  • Day 2 - modified alternate shot
  • Day 3 – singles match play


Saturday, July 26 – Vegas tournament

  • Players pick their own partner (or Pro Shop can assist).
  • Two-man teams can arrange their own foursome with another two-man team.
  • Foursomes are flighted based on handicap.
  • Scores are based on sum of each player's score on each hole.
  • Example, Team has a net 3 and 6 on a hole. That results in a score on that hole of 36. Team B has a net 5 and 5 on a hole. That results in a score on that hole of 55.
  • Points are awarded to Top 5 teams overall, flight winners and 2nd in flight.
  • Overall winners as well as flight winners.
  • More details to be provided at a later date.


Saturday, August 9 – 40 Ball tournament

  • Foursome (A, B, C, D players) picked by the Pro Shop.
  • Individual handicaps from preferred tees.
  • Count 40 balls (net scores) over the course of the round. Must count at least one ball (net score) on every hole.
  • Lowest accumulated score of the 40 balls is winner.
  • Points to top 5 teams


Saturday, September 6 – MGA Player of the Year Play-In

  • Last chance to make the MGA Player of the Year tournament. Individual stroke play event.
  • Gross and Net Prizes


Saturday and Sunday, October 18 & 19 – MGA Cup Championship

  • Top 20 point leaders and all ties play in an individual stroke play event. Points will be awarded each day.


Other Notes: 

  • Entries to tournaments close at 5:00 pm Wednesday before the event
  • Players may select any tee box this year. Players may change their tee box selection no more than one time before the Ryder Cup tournament 
  • Go or No Go for tournaments based on weather will be made no later than noon on Friday
